Important Update about the Granville Township Electricity Aggregation Program

Due to current issues in the Global and Domestic Energy Markets, Granville Township’s Aggregation Program consultant, Aspen Energy, has advised us to put our township’s electricity aggregation program on pause, for the time being. This is an action that has been taken by several other local aggregation programs, for the same reasons.

Our current program rate of 7.15 cents per kWh is set to expire in June 2026. Uncertainty within the Global energy markets, combined with Record Capacity auctions (driven by new Artificial Intelligence & Data Center builds) are raising aggregation rates across the State of Ohio. For these reasons our consultants have been unable to achieve a new aggregation rate that will be beneficial to our residents.

We want to provide our residents with the opportunity to both prepare for the upcoming increase in their utility bills and to explore their options. AEP Ohio’s current Price to Compare is 9.94 per kWh. Also, if needed, AEP Ohio (800-672-2231) offer plans that allow customers to have flexible payment options.

Our consultants will continue to evaluate the market and will advise us when we can secure a new aggregation rate that will save Granville Township residents on their electric bills, as our previous aggregation rates have.
